Many Britons plan to escape the never ending winter and go to warmer regions during the Easter break this week. Gatwick airport is thus gearing itself for handling this crowd. With more than 1.6 million passengers estimated to go to warmer lands, this Easter in Europe is going to be busy for travellers.

Temperature in Malaga being 19 degrees, it is a much sought after destination for enjoying the sun. So airport officials in Gatwick are expecting a lot of passenger crowd towards Spanish destinations. Britain is reeling under an icy wave, which is the coldest one in the last 50 years. Everyone in Scotland, England and in Midlands is experiencing a lot of discomfort due to this cold wave.

In fact, recently travel news revealed that the Leeds Bradford airport was closed down early morning at 6 as the runway was filled with snow. There were other delays in Birmingham, East Midlands, Birmingham, and Edinburgh airports.

So most of United Kingdom is having lot of snow and it is thus going to be a wintry weekend for Easter. Every place in the north of the M4 corridor is upto eight inches of snow. The most affected regions are North Wales, South west Scotland and North West England.

Most of the schools are shut down in Midlands and North and it is to continue for some more time. Last year in 2012, Easter was very warm. This year however it is quite different. Travel companies say that many Britons are headed to Fuerteventura in Canary Islands and Tunisia as these areas have at least nine hours of sun during winter.

With Easter in Europe being surprisingly icy cold, many Britons are heading outside Europe to escape the harsh cold. Travellers having plans to go here can be equipped with the right kind of clothing so that they are not caught unawares.

Today niche tourism is becoming popular in the travel industry. This trend has reached India too. Today more and more tourists are looking out for locales that would help them to be healthy and fit. This is termed as wellness tourism these days and gives the tourists a kind of travel that is emphasized mainly on the importance of being healthy and gives a lot of therapy and relaxation.

A person can have may ways of being well and healthy. On one hand wellness can be simply relaxing and rejuvenating. On the other side, wellness tourists could a spirititual way of relaxing. Many years ago the Romans and the Greeks went on pilgrimages and got a lot of spiritual healing. The concept is the same today and ahs had many going on such trips and coming back totally rejuvenated mentally and physically.

Today wellness tourism is a part of touring India. The sudden rise in popularity is due to the wellness centers around and the only thing that is required is accreditation to the locales and education and safety while touring these beautiful places.

The latest news is that western tourists are traveling towards east to find out the therapies and philosophies that are used traditionally. Since the country is many times linked with spiritual and healthy practices, it is but obvious that tourists are coming here to flock the country and live in harmony.

The trip is also getting easier as the tourists plan to travel to cities by flight. Hotels are also contributing by building spas attached to their hotels. Then there are medispas which are slowly making an entry into the market. The fact that the tourism industry is understanding this and more makes travels comfortable and the citizens are also taking benefits from the promotions of the wellness holidays and such kind.

The main reason why people go on these vacations is because this relieves mental and physical strain and India is said to be a destination where you can relax and enjoy. There are around 2300 resorts and more in India and out of these almost all would have spas thus giving you the right opportunity to enjoy in your tours.

Spas are the latest inclusion in tours and wellness tourism is one way in which you could relax and get health benefits too. India was actually given the rank among the tope 20 spa countries. Local hotels also provide spa facilities for the benefit of the customer.

Beach holidays are also very famous wellness tourism options. This is the best way one can unwind. So get the best beach resorts and go back with memories of a great beach experience. Get fit and get well by going to places like Thailand and Phuket where you can have a fantastic beach holiday. Then there are places like Malaysia where again you have a lot of beach delights.

Besides this it is a very good idea to combine historical locations as visitors tend to enjoy variety. Mountains and oceans are greatly favoured places to have spa locations and the travellers find that such spots give them a lot of wellness factor and help them in recovering soon. Wellness tourist is thus growing into a travel necessity and it is a segment that today no one can ignore. There travellers thus get a combination of wellness experiences and travel itinerary. Combining both helps the tourists to do a lot better.

The basic idea behind having an adventure travel is to have a wellness break and so while tourists enjoy the simple excitement and pleasures, the fun is unlimited when you have decided to give your body a break. So how do you decide where to go for the wellness break? It could be a beach, a mountain or just a plain resort with the best kinds of facilities. Traditional resorts are today the mainstay of adventure holidays. There are special trips here which give the family he much needed break and excitement.

Luxury travel is also bringing the spirit of adventure, the best of itineraries and the most fascinating kind of shopping delights. All this contribute to a great deal and people are happier that small time outings can actually take care of their health.

Thus wellness breaks are a way of ensuring that you are able to take a breath and also are kept fit and fine.

If you have never before thought about a holiday to Italy then 2012 could be the time to do so. The popularity of this great country among tourists has never been higher and there are some good reasons for this.

Just about anyone can relish holidays in Italy and to prove it here are some of the types of people who can get a lot out of this sort of trip.

The Food Buff

We don’t need to dwell too much on the quality of Italian food, do we? Oh, alright then. You can eat great pasta, pizza, cheese, bread and desserts among other things when you are here. Don’t forget the wine to go with it though. Italy is one of the world’s top holiday spots for tourists who want to get some serious food on their plates. You might even like it so much that you sign up for some cookery classes for your next trip.

The Art Fan

It is said that Italy houses around 50% of the finest pieces of art in the whole world. This is an astonishing figure but you won’t need much time in the country to realize that it is not any sort of an exaggeration. From world famous paintings to lifelike sculptures and outstanding buildings, there is every type of art possible here and you will probably run out of time to see it all no matter what part of the country you go to. Florence and Rome are two cities you can’t afford to miss if you love art but there are treasures sprinkled liberally all over the rest of the country as well.

The Nature Lover

The Italian cities are rightly famous but what about the stunning lakes, islands and mountains? Italy holidays can transport you to a place where the natural beauty is simply outstanding. Whether you choose to make the most of this by carrying out sporting activities, walking or simply soaking up the view is up to you. By choosing an Italian holiday from an experienced firm such as Holidaybreak you can pick from some of the most scenic parts of the world. If you are considering family holidays abroad, the travel site Eurocamp from Holidaybreak will have a lot of options for you to choose.

The Undecided Tourist

Most of us probably don’t fit comfortably into ant of the previous categories though, do we? In fact, the majority of us travel as undecided tourists. We have an idea that we might enjoy the views, the food and the art but we are open to being entertained by anything which comes our way. Italy is also a fine choice of destination for these tourists, as it is a lively, friendly country where you can make up your plans as you along. No matter how you feel each morning you will find something to do which gets you excited and lets you create some special holiday memories.

This is a guest post from Jordan Tyler, an ardent travel writer who has years of experience within the travel industry and occasionally writes for Keycamp and Eurocamp.

Before embarking on a trip, it is a good idea to make sure you’ve secured adequate direct travel insurance. This kind of insurance can protect you against a host of issues that could occur on your trip. For instance, two events that would be protected with travel insurance would be if the trip is either cancelled or somehow interrupted.

Expenses incurred in order to travel can be rather expensive. This could include airfare, cruise booking fees, hotels and more. Making sure all of these have been reserved is part of trip planning. Sometimes things can happen that necessitate the trip be shortened or canceled. In most situations, airline tickets or even cruise fees cannot be refunded. This would turn out to be substantial financial loss for the traveler. Travel insurance is designed to reimburse travelers for these expenses that cannot be refunded when a trip must be cancelled or ended abruptly.

Different events are eligible for coverage. For instance, if a trip has to be cancelled or interrupted due to illness or death, it can be covered. The illness can be one that afflicts the insured or their immediate family. Keep in mind that pre-existing conditions that cause a trip to be cancelled or interrupted would not qualify. Some reasons that trips may be cancelled or interrupted are due to war, epidemic and the like. These usually are not covered with this kind of travel insurance.

Specific coverage will vary between insurance companies. Therefore, it is a good idea to get as much information as you can in order to adequately compare coverage. Certain plans cover specific parts of a trip while others will cover the entire trip. It is best to get the more extensive insurance coverage. This will insure that you are adequately protected in the event something does cause your trip to be either cancelled or ended early.
